What: Aiea Loop Trail; combined hike with the Doberman Pinscher group
When: July 11, 2009, Meet at 845; hike will start at 9am
Where: Aiea Loop (4.5 mile hike)
This is a relatively easy hike. The trail receives regular maintenance and is always open, which make it suitable for all level of hikers. It's a great hike for beginners. The footpath is, for the most part, graded and wide. The only rough section is the short climb out of the gulch near the end of the hike.
ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEASH...this is a popular hike and it's only fair to other hikers that they don't have a giant Doberman or Boxer run up to them.
You are responsible for your safety and the safety of your dog, but please be safe stay on the trail. Bring water for you and your dog, good shoes, bug spray, sunblock, hat... You also must carry out anything your dog may make along the trail so bring poop bags.
Directions: Take Aiea Hights Dr. up to the entrance of Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area, drive past the heiau and the camping area to the upper parking lot.
